Granary Arts Exhibition of Life Drawing
Granary Arts Exhibition of Life Drawing
Craven Museum & Gallery
22nd -25th January
Private View 22nd Jan 6-8pm
Granary Arts is celebrating the diverse and creative work from its Tuesday life drawing sessions at Craven Museum & Gallery. The classes have seen a range of students of all abilities enjoying one of the oldest disciplines, drawing the human form, (there is evidence of life studies and figure drawing as early as prehistoric times).
Showcasing a vast array of models, materials and styles this exhibition is a real testament to this age old art, practiced throughout history and yet remains today, the best way to learn to draw. It is the discipline that artists return throughout their practice year after year regardless of their medium, painters, sculptors, ceramists or printmakers all take inspiration from the simple pleasure of drawing! Still taught in art school and colleges because if you can draw the figure you can draw anything!
The exhibition will demonstrate the variety of approaches and styles amongst both present and past students, from pencil through to bronze, wire sculpture to linocut. It will prove to be a fascinating show.
